Vectra M3

The Vectra M3 is an advanced imaging solution essential for any serious aesthetic practice. SurfaceID worked with Canfield to develop a clean, open design that focused on accessibility and patient comfort. During a scan, high resolution cameras capture a portrait in the finest details for photorealistic 3D modeling purpose. The model can then be easily visualized, worked on and discussed by surgeons and patients. While surgery can be intimidating, the Vectra M3 solution can ease patients through their procedure.

Endoscopic Stapler

Endoscopic surgery is a hugely demanding ergonomic task. The hand of the surgeon has to perform a wide range of motions, and execute several actions with one tool. SurfaceID loves this challenge and has developed several of these devices for US Surgical, Ethicon, etc. We first draw tons of sketches as part of the conception/task analysis process. In tandem, we make several prototypes to analyze the ergonomic and task execution capability of each form factor. When it comes to medical equipment, there is no room for error and SurfaceID has played an ever more important role in ergonomic development.

Venous Light

In venipuncture, you have very little margin for error. Imagine how much more effective you would be if you could see the veins beneath the skin. Now you can. At SurfaceID, we conducted a thorough study and task analysis on the operation of the handheld vein highlighting device. Several study models were made to perfect the prototype shown here.
