Bios International’s DryCal technology measures gas flow directly, by timing a piston as gas displaces it through a precision tube. The ML-One put that primary-standard accuracy into a single automatic instrument. Three horizontal flow tubes cover 5 to 50,000 sccm at 0.15% of reading, and the instrument selects the right tube for the flow, so there are no cells to swap.
SurfaceID gave that technology its form: an industrial design and enclosure that bring multiple measurement functions together in one simple touch-screen instrument, preserve the Bios brand identity and keep manufacturing costs down. A measurement takes little more than connecting the gas line and touching Measure, then Start, and the ML-One can be rolled on a cart for factory-floor work. It won a 2012 Flow Control Innovation Award in the Measurement category.

What it took to make a simple-looking injection molded part look clean, feel solid, and come out of the mold. Tstand looks simple. It is a tablet stand that rests on your chest while you lie in bed or on the couch, so you can watch a movie without holding the device or craning your […]
