Concept sketches & preliminary 3D development.
This project explored cookware that brings together the Dutch oven and the slow-cooker crock: generous lidded pots, studied in several shapes and finishes.
SurfaceID’s work covered the early stages of development: concept sketches, then preliminary 3D development of the pot, its lid and its handles.
Sketches compared round and oval vessels, ribbed and smooth walls, and different lid and handle details, in solid colours and in glass-lidded versions.
The strongest directions moved into 3D, where the pot, lid and surrounding parts were modelled as separate components to study proportions, fit and how the pieces come together.
The concepts treat the pots as a family, with round and oval sizes sharing the same lid, handle and surface details, so the set reads as one collection on the stove or the table.
